What is Manual Osteopathic Therapy?

Manual Osteopathic Therapy (MOT) is a gentle, hands-on, whole-body approach that aims to restore your body to a more balanced state. Rather than treating one sore spot in isolation, Jordan looks at how your joints, muscles, fascia, organs and nervous system are working together.

Depending on what your body needs that day, a treatment can include:

• Osteoarticulations (gentle joint mobilization)

• Advanced Myofascial Release

• Cranial Osteopathy / Craniosacral Therapy

• Lymphatic Drainage

• Visceral Manipulation

What can MOT help with?

People come to Jordan for MOT for things like hip pain, frozen shoulder, restricted range of motion, arthritis, sports injuries, headaches and stress. Osteoarticulation work in particular aims to improve joint mobility, address restrictions and restore proper function in the muscles, ligaments and tissues around a joint.

What to expect

Your first appointment starts with a conversation about what brings you in, followed by a whole-body assessment to guide your treatment. Each session is customized, so the techniques used can change from visit to visit.

Jordan sees clients at two Edmonton locations, so you can book Manual Osteopathic Therapy at whichever spot and day works best for you:

• Aligned Wellness home clinic (Blackburne Creek, south Edmonton): Wednesday evenings, Thursdays and Fridays (daytime, sometimes into the evening), and some weekends. Book at the home clinic

• iava Wellness (9343 50 St NW, Unit 1, Edmonton): Monday afternoons and evenings, and Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. Book at iava Wellness

Insurance and direct billing

MOT is billed under osteopathy. Jordan direct bills most major extended health insurers.
